I built my cabin in the boreal forest near Algonquin Park. The birch trees around it are where I find chaga, and I cut it myself, one tree at a time.

There are two very different products sold as chaga. One is mycelium cultivated indoors on grain. The other is the dense sclerotium that grows slowly for years on a living birch tree.
I harvest the second kind by hand in the boreal forest around my cabin. What comes out of the forest is what goes into the bag, dried and packaged close to where it was cut. No grain-grown mycelium, fillers, or additives.
Each piece is cut carefully rather than pulled away. Enough is left behind for the tree and the chaga to continue their natural cycle.
I work one tree at a time because I plan on returning to this same forest for years. It takes longer, but it respects the place that produces it.
Half a teaspoon of powder stirred into hot water, coffee, tea, or cocoa, or a pot of pieces simmering low while the morning chores get done. Earthy, smooth, mildly bitter, and faintly cocoa-adjacent.
The same wild-harvested Canadian chaga, prepared in two formats. Choose the pace that fits your day.
They are the same wild-harvested Canadian chaga prepared in two formats. Powder is convenient for quick drinks and cooking. Pieces are intended for a longer traditional simmer and can be reused for 2 to 3 brews.
It is earthy, smooth, and mildly bitter, with a faint cocoa-adjacent quality. It works well on its own and pairs naturally with coffee, cocoa, maple, and dark chocolate.
Keep unused Powder or Pieces cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight. Refrigerate or freeze brewed Pieces between uses.
Yes. Powder is useful for quick daily preparation and recipes, while Pieces are well suited to slower mornings and traditional tea.
