I built the Hearthside for a specific kind of person.
Not everyone. Not even most people who watch the channel.
So before you join, it's worth being honest about what it is and what it isn't.
It's probably right for you if:
You watch the slower videos. Not just the big builds. The quiet ones. The ones where not much happens except the fire and the morning and Cali at my side. If those are the ones you come back to, you'll feel at home here.
You've thought about a different kind of life. Not necessarily a cabin in the bush. Maybe just more quiet. More time outside. Less noise. Less screen. You don't have to be building anything to belong here. You just have to be thinking about it.
You want somewhere to go that isn't the algorithm. Every platform is optimised to keep you agitated and scrolling. The Hearthside isn't. It's a note from the cabin once a month, a podcast episode by the woodstove, members-only videos that don't need a thumbnail. You read it, you watch it, you listen. Then you go back to your life feeling a little steadier than before.
You appreciate things that arrive slowly. A written dispatch. Something in the mail from the cabin a few times a year. Something small, something that evokes the feeling I get when I'm here. If that sounds good to you, it probably is.
It's probably not right for you if:
You're looking for a course or a curriculum. The Hearthside isn't structured learning. There are no modules, no progress bars, no certification at the end. That's what the Timber Frame tier is for, and it isn't open yet. If you want to learn specific skills right now, the channel has years of that. Come back when the Timber Frame opens.
You want daily content. I post when I have something worth saying. Members get more than the public channel, but this isn't a content machine. If you need something new every day to feel the value, this won't be the right fit.
You're not sure why you're here. That's fine. But the Hearthside works best for people who already know why they watch. If you've been watching for a while and something in these videos keeps pulling you back, you know what that thing is. That's what the membership is built around.
What it costs and what you get:
Limited membership, so I can stay available to the people who are in it.
Every month: a note from the cabin, members-only videos, a podcast episode recorded by the woodstove. A few times a year, something in the mail. Product discounts in the store on everything I make and stock.
No contracts. Cancel any time.
If you're still reading, you already know.
The people who need to think hard about whether this is right for them usually aren't the right fit.
The people who read this far and felt something — a little pull toward the quieter life, a recognition of something they've been missing — those are exactly who I built this for.
Link below if that's you.
I'll see you at the cabin.
